THERE has been a lot of talk about putting a new supermarket on the site of the Focus Do It All building, I wonder if anyone has given a thought about the traffic problems it will cause?
It was difficult enough to get out on to the main Plymouth road when the DIY store was there, so imagine what it will be like with dozens of shoppers all trying to access the main road. One can envisage the same problems that are encountered when trying to leave the Co-op/Waitrose/Lidl complex in Okehampton but without the benefit of traffic lights.
Now here's a thought, if the council could sort out the access and persuade the Co-op in Tavistock to relocate to that site, then the Co-op building and its attendant car park could be converted into a muti-storey car park, thus giving those who wish to shop locally in the town plenty of parking spaces.
How about that for an idea? I can feel my ears burning already!
