WALKERS in the Meadows in Tavistock had a surprise today (Wednesday) when a Cornwall Air Ambulance landed in the middle of the park.
The air ambulance was called to pick up a person who was taken ill in the town centre. However, with the ambulance service arriving on the scene, paramedics decided that the patient could be taken to Derriford Hospital by road.
Paramedic Stuart Croft told the Times that it was a straightforward landing and thanked the public for standing clear of the landing site.
The air ambulance had been busy that morning on flights to other call outs in Cornwall.
