THERE was a paintbrush battle at the Horn of Plenty's Christmas Fair recently, with two Gulworthy Primary School pupils coming out on top.

Nicole Remmington and James Bartlett, pictured above, were the winners of the Christmas fair drawing and painting competition, which had the theme 'Chef Santa'.

Nicole, eight, and James, nine, took part in a cookery session with master chef Peter Gorton as their prize, assisting him with one of his Christmas cooking demonstrations. They also received a goody bag each.

All the entries for the competition were displayed at the fair.
