TAVISTOCK'S Contact Youth Club has said a big 'thank you' to Devon Youth Services for a grant of £800 towards new equipment.

The grant was given through Devon's Youth Opportunities fund, and has enabled them to purchase a variety of new equipment to enhance the club.

Among some of the purchases was a Nintendo Wii, a bowling set, a large television and a new music stereo system.

Charly Flynn-Samuels, who completed the application for the grant, said: 'It's fantastic to have new stuff. We're having so much fun with the Wii and all the equipment has made our club even better.'

The Contact Youth Club runs every Wednesday evening at Tavistock Methodist Church, and is open to anyone in the community within school years 7 to 11.
