Dartmoor National Park Authority (DNP) has launched a public consultation over its proposals to the park’s byelaws aimed at protecting the wildlife, habitats and archaeology on the moors.
The current byelaws were authorised in 1989 and the proposed changes will alter rights to access land which will affect the rights of all vehicles, campers and dog-walkers on the moorland.
The consultation period runs until November 1, after which the authority will meet to agree to any changes.
Revised byelaws will be advertised in the press for the following six weeks before they are sent to Defra for final confirmation.
