Quiz nights, bingo and a Christmas shopping market were just a few of the many fundraising events organised by Okehampton Conservative Club during the last year.

The club held its president's night last week, when a cheque for £1,655 was given to Ovarian Cancer Action and Okehampton Girl Guides, for the guides' and brownie hut — the two charities chosen by this year's club president, Heather Whitbread.
