A VARIETY concert will be staged in Okehampton tomorrow (Friday) to raise money to help with the restoration of a church organ. The concert, organised by Dave England, will be held in Fairplace Church. Dave said: ?All the church members are doing their bit to help raise money for the organ ? at the moment we are almost halfway towards the £23,000 target ? now it?s my turn.? Dave, who is a singer and entertainer, will be joined on stage by Helen Palmer, a violinist and vocalist from Tavistock, Roger Partridge, a comedian and storyteller and Marlene Butler, a soprano from Exeter. Organist for the evening will be John Holland and Jean Wall will be pianist. Light refreshments will be available during the event, which starts at 7.30pm. Tickets, costing £5, are available from the Fairplace Church shop in the Arcade, Okehampton, from church members or on the door.
