TICKETS have gone on sale for an outdoor charity concert this summer which will recapture the sounds of the Sinatra era. The event, in aid of the Macmillan Trust, will be held in a natural amphitheatre in Spreyton on Saturday June 23, featuring big band, swing, and jump jive sounds from the nine-piece band Ratpack. Mike and Phyllis (Phil) Tucker (pictured right) will be hosting the event at their 17th century home just two miles from Whiddon Down. Parking will be available in an adjoining field and the audience is encouraged to bring along picnics. Phil's family has been affected by cancer and she is delighted with the specialised care Macmillan provides, and pleased to be supporting the charity. 'We are confident this event will appeal to a wide age spectrum,' she said. 'Our garden is ideal for picnics and a wine and beer tent will be available.' Tickets, at £20, are available from 01647 433609 or 01647 432601 — more than 150 have already been sold, and the event is expected to sell out early.
