Tavistock U15s girls 61

THIS was a convincing win for the Tavistock girls. Plymouth could not counter the speed and running of Annabel Longden and Flo Rodgers who each scored a try.

Amy Neave for Tavistock was inspirational in mopping up loose ball and turning defence into attack. She scored two tries and helped in each of the five tries by Lauren Dawe. Annabel Longden converted eight tries.

With Kim Upcott at tight head becoming the powerhouse of the pack, Kayleigh Gatcom moved from hooker to loose head. While some of the scrums were messy in the muddy conditions, Flo Rodgers kept possession after all of the Tavistock put-ins and gained much against the head.

By half-time with the wind and rain behind them, Tavistock had scored four converted tries, but Plymouth began to put up fierce resistance. They held out for 10 minutes, but back came Lauren Dawe with a couple of scorching tries. Powerful running by Bronwin Rundle gained 20 metres before the ball was off-loaded, leading to a further offensive on the Plymouth line. Amy Neave with her skilful and committed tackling played well while Lauren Dawe with five tries was player of the match.
