Tavistock U12s 26 Okehampton U12s 12 THE home side found themselves up against a much improved outfit in a strong Okehampton side. Tavistock played the best rugby they know how in the first half with fly half Jack Morgan putting in some unselfish running creating the first try for Elliot Hoyte to finish. Prop forward George Harold won some hard ground in the middle of the pitch. The resulting maul saw scrum half Philip Snell put in a long pass out towinger Sam Straughan who avoided two defenders before off loading to captain Barnaby Frost to cross the line. It was not long before Tavistock were again camped on the Okehampton line, this time Frost was stopped just short of the line but driven over by a well organised maul to score his second. Okehampton put on the pressure and only a well taken clearance kick from Jack Morgan and a clever blind side call by full back Jack Haigh got Tavistock back on the attack in the half. It is just as well Tavistock won the first half convincingly because they lost the second in a similar fashion. Okehampton stepped up the pressure and push Tavistock into lots of mistakes. They soon broke the home defences to score and again shortly after through a succession of handling errors from Tavistock. The game ended with Tavistock regaining some composure with a push over try in the safe hands of George Harold. Jack Morgan converted three of the four tries.
