Devon & Exeter Senior 4

Okehampton Argyle Seconds 3

Seaton Seconds 3

AFTER several weeks lay-off, Okehampton resumed their league programme against a side who have lost form in recent weeks.

Late withdrawals left Okehampton reshuffling and Ben Woodhouse volunteered as keeper.

Early play saw Woodhouse show his skills to keep the visitors at bay. Against the run of play Okehampton took the lead when Jason Sandford?s cross was tucked away by James Callaghan.

With the away defence looking for an offside flag, Okehampton gave away too many free kicks and were punished with a 20-yard effort which beat Woodhouse on the line.

In the second half Okehampton found more space but never really threatened. Seaton played the better football but struggled to beat a rugged back four, Martyn Letchford putting in awesome tackles.

Okehampton again took the lead with a classy five-man passing move finished off by a Dave Grimes header.

Seaton found themselves another goal behind when Daniel Gibbs? free kick was fumbled by the keeper.

Gibbs became the villain at the other end, giving the ball away and the striker hit the target to give the visitors a last chance. Okehampton showed no composure and Seaton were rewarded with an equaliser in the sixth minute of extra time.

This Saturday away to Bickleigh, 2.30pm kick-off.
