A MEETING is to be held following complaints about noise disturbance at a Bishopsmead play area, members of Tavistock Town Council were told this week.
A resident, whose house backs onto the play area, has complained to the council about the noise of teenagers using the play area and of balls being kicked against walls.
Cllr David Best said he visited the playpark recently and it was obviously ?very well used? ? he felt more planting of shrubs against the walls may help, though other councillors said this idea had been rejected in the past.
Cllr Betty Batchelor said: ?People who bought their houses there knew there was a play area with goalposts. It?s nothing new, you do get this cropping up from time to time.?
Cllr Alison Clish-Green said: ?I am very well aware of the problem. It?s not just older children using the area, there is also a problem with parking as they arrive in cars.
?There?s more to this than meets the eye. I?ve brought this matter to the attention of the borough council and they are in the process of setting up a meeting to talk this through.?
Cllr Clish-Green said the matter was a social one and she hoped representatives from the police and West Devon Community Safety Partnership would attend the meeting to discuss the best way forward.
