A WEST Devon computer related community service shop will be closed throughout this month due to refurbishment work.

Tavistock Recycled Computers and Training Limited is a non-profit making business offering computer related services to the community of Tavistock and surrounding areas.

The shop at Eastend Stores in the Pannier Market surround will be closed until Tuesday, October 2.

The shop relies on the good will of the community and many students have volunteered to help with renovations. Normally volunteers run the shop while the computer training takes place at the rear.

The shop raises funds that offset the fee for computer training making it affordable.

Over the years the service has helped many people who would not have been able to find the same kind of help elsewhere.

The service does not get government funding and has to raise all the money itself, by offering affordable repairs, reselling donated computers and parts and making and selling handmade cards.

There is also free advice on computer and internet problems.

The shop is still offering help while it is closed for the month.

People can get a repair by getting in contact and staff will collect and return when completed. People can also still donate unwanted laptops or computers which can be collected.

The temporary number on which to contact the shop is 01822 618865, text 07779349956 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
