A MUSIC ?hot-spot? in Tavistock will be visited next week by a band committed to climate change. Indie-folk band Nimomashtic are walking from gig to gig and travelling a distance of more than 300 miles ? stopping at Jack Chams en route next Tuesday, September 11. The band began the ?Walk your Talk? journey from Brighton on August 24 and will finish at the Eden Project on September 15 ? carrying all their own equipment and sleeping underneath the stars. The band are resurrecting the legacy of 19th century American folk hero ?Johnny Appleseed?. He was a wandering pioneer who planted many thousands of trees over 40 years. Nimomashtic are planting trees and wildflowers as a symbol that only with man?s helping hand can a potential climate crisis be avoided. This year?s tour follows a 900 mile trek around the UK in 2006, which saw them play 40 concerts, planting trees along the way. Jack Cham?s owner Glen Duff, said: ?They asked to come to Cham?s as they hard about the live music which comes here. They are making their journey longer just to come here.?
