A SEMINAR on caring for the bereaved takes place on Tuesday (May 8) at Tavistock Methodist Church. Dr Bill Webster, the director of the centre for Grief Journey, will be talking at 2pm for care professionals and again at 7pm for the general public. The seminar, jointly sponsored by Golden Charter Funeral Plans and Tavistock's Morris Bros, will include advice on; who do you turn to, where can you get advice, and what support is available. Dr Webster was born and educated in Scotland and moved to Canada to be married. After his wife died suddenly in 1983 he struggled to come to terms with his loss. As part of his doctoral work at the University of Toronto he made a study of the grieving process. Dr Webster has developed grief support programmes in many communities and has experience in helping people come to terms with their loss. Acknowledged as a dynamic, personable and practical speaker, Dr Webster combines his own story with his knowledge and sense of humour effectively to communicate his message.
