Rolle Rockets 0

Tavistock Ladies 2

TAVISTOCK took control in the early stages battling against high winds and rain more than the opposition!

Helen Miller and Aileen Ismail did well to take throw ins and force the ball upfield against the wind.

Tavistock's first goal came from a superb through ball from Ismail to Lisa Curtis who took it past the Rockets' defence and into the back of the net.

Tavistock kept the pace up and a shot from Louise Evans was stopped by a joint effort of Rolle's keeper and a muddy goalmouth.

After a shortened half-time Tavistock and Rockets came out cold and wet, but ready to pay the best they could. Rockets took a few chances at trying to draw level, but to no avail.

Tavistock kept battling and eventually the hard work paid off with a second goal supplied by Evans.

When hail-stones added to the windy conditions the referee decided to call it a day after 72 minutes of play.

Lady of the match: the whole team for playing in bad weather and never giving up until the final whistle.

Aileen Ismail wins the wet T-shirt competition and a prize for being the only one to sing 'Singing in the Rain' with no back up from the team.

Tavistock Ladies are home this week in a cup match against Brixham Utd kick-off 2pm.
