I HAVE a dream. How nice it was to see life put into the magistrates' court again during the recent 'mock-trial' event. Wouldn't it be nice to see life again put into the court by using it to the benefit of the town and West Devon?
Could the Police Museum be encouraged to move to Tavistock? The town is centrally placed in the two counties covered by the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary. Indeed, if the police station itself closes and relocates, the building could all be utilised well as a heritage centre for the constabulary.
Does anyone else share such a view? It would instantly put the town onto the worldwide web and would serve as a tourist attraction to bring people back into the heart of the town when so much around us is closing.
Does West Devon Borough Council know of the existence of the town centre, when they place such things as Yellow Pages recycling bins at Safeway supermarket, encouraging people to use out of town facilities when they should be promoting the town centre — what is wrong with the town centre?
Does anyone share my views?
