TAVISTOCK College's music department is inviting the community to a free concert in the heart of the town.

Jazz in the Park will see the Tavistock College Jazz Band perform on the bandstand in the Meadows from 12.30 to 3pm on Tuesday, July 20.

Sarah Pappin, head of music, said: 'These young people are extremely talented and have blown away the audiences they have played to so far.

'The students perform genuine jazz music which you would hear in a professional club.

'We would love local people to join us for some free entertainment – just bring a picnic and a rug.'
