FREE blood pressure checks are being offered by The Stroke Association on Tuesday, May 13 at Lake Pharmacy in Tavistock. Stroke is the third highest cause of death in this country and results in the highest number of severely disabled people with approximately 300,000 being affected at any one time. Up to 60% of all strokes are caused by high blood pressure, which rarely has any symptoms. The offer of free blood pressure checks at Lake Pharmacy from 10am to noon, is part of the Stroke Association's prevention initiative.
