A CHARITY event organised by the Soldiers, Sailors and Air Force Association (SSAFA) is being held on Sunday, October 21 at Tavistock Pannier Market . Supporters of SSAFA are hosting a ?Big Brew Up? between 3pm and 5pm for service charities and for those on service in Iraq and Afghanistan. During the day TUBES, Tavistock Versatile Brass Ensemble will be performing, and a raffle will take place with the first prize being a framed limited edition print of action in the Falkland Islands, which has been donated. Caroline Day, a long-time supporter of SSAFA and one of the organisers of the event, said the Tavistock branch of the charity had been planning this tea party for some time. She said: ?What I thought then would just be a small tea party, is now being held in Tavistock Pannier Market ? this has been made possible by the generous help and kindness of the market manager Eddie Carruthers and his assistant Mike Souttar. ?Our servicemen deserve our thoughts and support, particularly at this time.? SSAFA is one of the leading national charities committed to helping and supporting those who serve and have served in the armed forces, and for their families. Entrance to the event is donation at the door. Everyone is welcome.
