LAUNCESTON started well and attacked the home side. Poor defence allowed them to score a converted try. For the rest of the first half both sides were fairly even.
The start of the second half saw Launceston raise their game with good running rugby. This, combined with the home side's woeful tackling, allowed Launceston to score two more converted tries giving them a 21-0 lead.
The North/Okes realised that unless they started to improve they were in for a long afternoon. James Ewen was the first to score from a quick taken penalty. This was followed by three tries from Andrew North and one from Kevin Dennis, North converted three and Mike Heard converted one.
Will Lethbridge came close to scoring, but the referee adjudged he had dropped the ball.
Although the North/Okes won comfortably, they will have to work on their defence before the next game.
