THIS was not the friendliest of friendlies, but it looked in the first half as though Okehampton would have no problems securing a win.
The home side settled quickly into their passing game and were soon on the attack. An early short corner was well struck by Sue Stanbury to give them the lead.
Caroline Friend held her position well at left-half and snuffed out any advances by Totnes down the right.
Jo Stephens was busy down the right wing easily outpacing the Totnes defence, and it was not long before Columbines went 2-0 up when Jo Moppett scored from an acute angle.
The match changed when Elaine Morgan ? who had been having a strong game at centre back ? had to go off with an injury.
Sandy Douglas came on and went to left back position where she stood up well to the Totnes attack. But Okehampton never really got back into their game pattern.
Debbie Ough made some outstanding saves in goal but could do little about the three goals Totnes scored. Columbines kept trying but there was not enough penetrating distribution or running of the ball to make the necessary breakthrough.
This week Okehampton meet Bude at home in a league match.
