Ivybridge Colts 3 Tavistock Colts 3 TAVISTOCK got the tough match they expected against the league leaders who fielded a much stronger side than that defeated by Tavistock a month ago. Tavistock opened the scoring with a Vanstone penalty for obstruction as centre Goodspeed almost broke through. Three tries from Ivybridge in the first half and four in the second half completed the scoring. Ivybridge?s tactic of moving the ball cross field repeatedly until space or overlaps appeared, worked well with Tavistock tiring at the final whistle after 70 minutes of hard running rugby. Despite the high score, Tavistock were always in this match with good performances from flanker Penrose and No 8 Morton. Wingers Shutler and Braithwaite made occasional forays into the Ivybridge half but tight defence prevented any tries. Man of the match was scrum half Ewan Smith with strong tackling close to the scrum and some fine service to his threes despite heavy pressure.
