TAVISTOCK Colts started brightly with Simon Boreham leading charges into the Launceston half, but sound defence kept Tavistock at bay.

Then Launceston came back and tested the Tavistock defence. A tackle by Richard Lloyd turned the ball and Darren Sutton set up a drive taken on by Andrew Barwick.

Peter Welsh won a heel against the head and Mark Ewings put in a chip over the top.

The Launceston wing was engulfed by Duncan Law and Paul Harwood. The ball went loose and John Pain was on hand to pick up and crash over, Josh Sutton converted.

Launceston came storming back and Tavistock were penalised. Launceston ran the ball and scored under the posts.

Again Tavistock were put under pressure, Simon Beard had to leave the field and Launceston took full advantage, scoring in the corner.

Launceston continued to attack but excellent defence from Hamish Pearse-Danker and Phil Maloney held them out.

The second half started with a drive by Richard Huish, taken on by Adam Wilson and Launceston were forced to concede a penalty, Josh converted.

Launceston attacked again but Sam Fisher put in a great tackle, turning the ball over and Josh Sutton spiralled a great kick up to the Launceston line. Louis Addaway won the line-out. Chris Freeman wrong-footed the defence and again Launceston were penalised, Josh slotting the ball over.

This set the pattern for the half with Josh Sutton giving a quite magnificent kicking display and the forwards, driven on by Richard Morris, causing Launceston to concede penalites.

Launceston managed one break out but Alex Clayton covered their winger and Lawrence Evans was able to run the ball back setting up a drop goal attempt which just difted wide.
