Ivybridge Colts 68

Tavistock Colts 0

TAVISTOCK suffered their first defeat this season when they came up against a well drilled and organised home side who displayed an authority in all aspects of the game.

The early stages saw Tavistock press into the Ivybridge 22 but loose possession saw them clear the danger and enable them to break and register their first score.

A weaving run by Tom Thursby put Dan Cunningham away on the wing but he was put into touch before he could get into the corner. The home side hit back with further well constructed scores but Tavistock kept plugging away but could not break through the home defence.

The home side were dominating in the lineout and this was providing a good platform from which to mount their attacks.

The plus points for Tavistock was the scrum that was more than a match for the home side, the tackling by Jack Bond, Robin Jones, Jez Cramoysan and Jack Miller which saw them repel the opposition on numerous occasions, George Rogers fielding the high ball well in very windy conditions and the all round attitude of the players in competing right to the final whistle as the score mounted.
