Crediton 36 Okehampton 12 OKEHAMPTON Colts travelled away to Crediton expecting a tough, physical game. The home team came out strongly, scoring from a line out and rolling maul after 10 minutes. Okehamton then kept Crediton under pressure with strong runs from Gary Sizmur on the wing and excellent line kicking from Ian Sercombe at fly half. Crediton gave away loose ball at a five-metre lineout and Simon Cox pounced on it for the try. Andy Herrod-Taylor converted for the extra two points and the lead at 7-5. Okehampton?s whole team showed great commitment playing an excellent mature colts unit from Crediton. They soaked up pressure without loss until the last minutes of the half when Crediton took a five-metre scrum and their inside centre powered over for a converted try to end the half 14-7. In the second half Crediton played some impressive flowing rugby. The tackle count was definitely onesided with the result that Okehampton tired in the last quarter and Crediton extended their lead with a further four tries before Okehampton finished the game with a well worked penalty move seeing Simon Bennett score a try.
