IN the second weekend of the Devon County Amateur Swimming Association Championships held at Exe Valley Leisure Centre in Tiverton Kelly College swimmers achieved 69 personal best times (pb), 15 gold medals, three silver and nine bronze medals.

There were two Kelly College age group records broken. There was also one Devon County age group record by Blaine Small in the 800m freestyle as she claimed her third championship of 2011 in a time of 9.03.29. Blaine also took the Kelly College Age Group Record for 17 year olds, which had stood since February 2002. Molly Redford (14) was the Junior 800m champion and Chloe Barrow won the 12 year old girls 800m.

Blaine achieved her fourth championship win in the girls 100m butterfly. Kelly College had two age group winners in this event, Molly Redford (14) and Victoria Moore (11).

Taking his first ever Devon Championship was Elliot Boon (16) in the 200m breaststroke in a personal best time, with George Humphrey (15) placing third in the open championship but taking the junior championship as being the first 15 and under swimmer.

Ben Staig, swimming in the 11 year old age group broke a Kelly record in the 200m backstroke for boys. Thomas Brew swam a personal best to take took gold in the 10 year olds.

Molly Redford was third in the girls 100m individual medley. Victoria Moore took gold in the 11 year old 100m individual medley final with her team mate Brittaney O'Reilly with the silver. Bret Bassett won gold in the mens 1500m freestyle in a personal best time. Other medallists over the weekend were Millie Murdoch, Georgia Jones, Chloe Barrow and Dan Gillard.
