LOCAL businesses with issues of concern are being asked to get in touch with West Devon Borough Council to see if they can work together.

It follows an informative and constructive meeting between members of the Federation of Small Businesses in West Devon and officers and councillors from the borough council.

A presentation on the authority's economic politics was given by Tim Beavon, the council's economic development manager, which was followed by discussion on business support strategies, availability of Broadband in rural areas and traffic calming measures.

FSB regional spokesman Ian Handford said: 'We have identified many ways in which the FSB and the council can work together in addressing local concerns.

'We have over 350 members in the West Devon borough council area and it is good news for them that we have such open dialogue with their local authority.'

Chief executive of the council David Incoll said he wanted to hear from businesses with concerns.
