The Shelter Box Trust was set up by the Rotary Club of Helston-Lizard.
It provides basic humanitarian relief on a world-wide basis in the form of materials and equipment providing shelter, warmth and comfort to people displaced by natural and other disasters.
Robin Williams, president of the Rotary Club of Tavistock, and Kelvin White, the vice-president of the Yelverton club, are shown with one of the Shelter Boxes, which contains a ten-person tent and ten durable sleeping bags, together with other equipment such as a spade, torch and ropes.
Many of these boxes will be destined for Iraq over the coming months as part of the relief effort during and after the war.
