YELVERTON Bohemians Cricket Club president Brian Chetwynd opened the new artificial practice net facility at the club recently. The new facility, costing £4,100, has been funded largely via the club?s own resources, fund raising events and local sponsorship/advertising along with a loan from the club president. The Rotary Club of Yelverton have donated £500 to this project. The club now runs four weekend Xls and has a flourishing Colts Section with sixty plus juniors attending training sessions each Monday evening throughout the cricket season. Completion of stage one of this project will provide a safe modern practice facility to supplement the club?s existing grass practice area. The new facility will allow more effective coaching and the ongoing development of both the club?s Junior and Senior sections. Phase two of the project will see the club seek to purchase a bowling machine to further enhance its coaching/practice facilities.
