WEST Devon Methodist Circuit's youth club is the latest organisation to receive the generous backing of Okehampton United Charity.

The club has received a cheque for £5,000 to support the youth work being undertaken in Okehampton.

At the last OUC meeting, trustees awarded grants totalling £28,270 to groups including the Past Memories Café, Fulfilling Lives, Living Free and the CAB to contribute to their ongoing running costs.

Ocmundtune Creative Arts were awarded a grant to support a weekend of creative and performance arts in Okehampton from May 23 to May 25, 2014. Sporting and arts achievement grants were awarded to local youngsters, and Community Lynx and the Illuminators netball team received grants to help with one off projects.
