Tavistock Ladies' seconds 2

Plym Valley Ladies' third 1

Tavistock ladies struggled to find form, although showing some bright moments from the off, there were too many errors to capitalise on the moves. Gawman made some nice crosses into the D and Pollock, playing in central midfield, made some decisive interceptions and passes.

Some good defending from Horton and Passmore kept Plym Valley out of the Tavistock D in the first half. The Plym Valley goalkeeper played well to keep out numerous attempts at goal from home forwards Martin and Smallacombe .

The second half saw Tavistock come out determined to find a goal. They were rewarded when a good pass from Mills-Hicks to Evans saw it passed on to Firth who pushed it past the keeper. Evans was unlucky after having a goal disallowed when it was judged to have hit her feet. Gill Court played a solid game from right midfield with some good passes to the forwards.

Plym Valley continued to put pressure on the Tavistock defence and took full advantage when they created a counter-attack and left the defence outnumbered.

Despite having a good game keeper Greenstead could do nothing to keep the ball out of the goal. Tavistock quickly came back with a few attacking moves, from one of which Firth scored but it was disallowed as the whistle had been blown for a penalty corner.

However, it was from this penalty corner that Firth scored her second goal. The Tavistock defence held out mounting pressure from Plym Valley in the closing moments to secure a narrow win.
