TAVISTOCK Hospital celebrated its first anniversary of chemotherapy cancer care last Friday as a number of its weekly patients completed their treatment.
The outreach chemotherapy clinic is run every Friday in a room of the physiotherapy department.
Between five and ten patients are treated each day and it was decided to have a small party to celebrate just over a year of the clinic as some of those who started their treatment there at its inception were finishing it that day.
Outreach team leader Sister Laura Evenden said the patients appreciated not having to travel further for their treatment and remarked on the friendly atmosphere at the clinic.
They also got to know one another as they met each week for treatment.
