A PAIR of Tavistock adventurers have this week paid tribute to their supporters, following their Alpine charity challenge.
Richard Staniland and Tim Lowe climbed to the summit of Mont Blanc in September to raise money for the Myeloma UK charity, in memory of two friends who died from the condition, a type of cancer which affects plasma cells in bone marrow.
Richard said: 'We were literally blown away with the whole adventure.
'Succeeding to the summit where so many others had failed and at the same time raising such an amazing amount of money in memory of our friends.'
The pair raised £4,071.23 through their Just Giving site following the story which ran in the Times.
Richard said: 'We really do a appreciate the support that was given and thank everyone who donated.'
The two adventurers are now looking for another challenge for 2015.
