SIMON Goodenough, garden curator at Ventnor Botanic Gardens on the Isle of Wight, is giving a talk at Brentor today (Thursday) at 7.30pm. The Isle of Wight has been living with warmer drier summers for some years ? gardeners at Ventnor and Osborne House are experts on the effects of climate change on the garden. Simon said: ?We have already seen significant change at Ventnor with chaotic flowering patterns and peculiar flashes of growth for a growing range of plants. For example, some perennials which used to bloom for six weeks every summer are now flowering for just two.? The talk will be in the village hall and all are welcome.
