MOUNT House girls' hockey teams enjoyed a clean sweep of victories, winning two matches each against Kelly College and Exeter Cathedral School, scoring 23 goals and conceding only five.
In the First VII match against Exeter Cathedral School, Mount House were in command from the outset, and Exeter could not match the home side's team playing skills.
In the second half Mount House changed some outfield players, and this made for a more competitive encounter, but the visitors were unable to penetrate the defence. The game ended as a 4-0 home victory, with goals from Imogen Galsworthy, Izzy Norris and Holly Wixon.
The First VII completed their season unbeaten in regular fixtures by beating Kelly 5-0 in their final match. Little was required from their much-improved defence as Mount House spent most of the match in the Kelly D. The girls have had an outstanding season, scoring 41 goals and conceding only 10.
Mount House made a strong start in the B fixture against Exeter CS, with Sascha Lopes the driving force at centre forward. She scored two quick goals with excellent strikes, then two more set up by Lucy Telfer-Smollett. Gemma Robbins then scored one before Sascha helped herself to her fifth.
In the second half Marina Carrick moved up from sweeper to centre forward and scored twice to complete a convincing 8-0 victory.
The B team was unlucky not to come away with a bigger victory against Kelly, as they had 90% of the possession, but some sloppiness in defence meant Kelly scored virtually every time they broke away. Mount House just won 6-5 with goals from Izella Oxenham, Bethan Wesley and Georgina Morris.
