CLASSIC car lovers can browse over various MGs over the bank holiday weekend as the Tamar Valley MG Owners Club exhibit cars at a Kelly House open day.

Following the Channel 4 programme, Country House Rescue, the club contacted the owners of Kelly House in Lifton, to see if they could exhibit some of their classic cars.

Hilary Medland, secretary of the Tamar Valley MG Owners Club, said: Over the year as a club we look for places of interest to visit other than the usual classic car shows. We do attend a selection of those but some members prefer something different.

We should have about a dozen cars at Kelly House, mostly MGB Roadsters and MGB GTs, plus some of the more modern ones such as MGFs.

The open day at Kelly House is on Sunday August 29 from 2pm to 6pm.

Hilary said it would be a great opportunity for new members to join the club: We are always open to new members. Currently we have a membership of about 40, mostly couples. As I am a female club secretary I try to include events that the less car-mad might enjoy, and I thought it would be a nice idea to support a local house of historic interest in their efforts to keep it going.

The club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at the Moorland Links Hotel, Yelverton. For more information about the club, visit the website http://www.brmmbrmm.com/tvmgoc">www.brmmbrmm.com/tvmgoc
