THE spirit of Easter drew together parishioners from Okehampton's Christian churches, who combined forces for a Good Friday service and walk of witness.

Parishioners from All Saints Parish Church, St Boniface Roman Catholic Church, Fairplace Methodist and United Reformed Church, New Life Church, Inspiration Church and Okehampton Baptist Church united for the Christians Together in Okehampton service at Fairplace Church.

Prayers were led by the Rev Stephen Cook and the Rev Mike Davies, with readings by the Rev David Waters. Hymns were accompanied by John Holland on the organ and piano. The sermon was provided by the Rev Philip Wagstaff.

Mr Waters led a large procession while carrying a cross through the town to Red Lion Yard, where there was further readings from Father Marianathan, the Rev Barry Walton and the Rev Jeff Jacobson.

The Walk of Witness finished with two verses from the hymn 'When I survey the wondrous cross'.

Afterwards, refreshments and hot cross buns were served in Okehampton Baptist Church.
