A SERIES of events are being held leading up to the centenary of the Bridestowe Methodist Church building. There will be events in April, May and June before a week of celebrations take place from September 25 — the actual anniversary. St Joseph's School in Launceston performed a concert to a full house earlier this month under the direction of Elizabeth Mann and Jonathon Mann on the piano. On April 20 a spring supper is planned with entertainment by the circuit ministers and families and on May 18 Okehampton Big Band will give a concert. An It's a Knockout event on June 16 with a barbecue and barn dance will be followed by a concert by Okehampton Choral Society on June 26. On the centenary day and the remainder of the week there will be refreshments and exhibitions — anyone with connections to the chapel over the years is being invited along to join in a reunion. The Holman Climax Male Voice Choir will be performing on September 29. To find out more or get tickets contact Brian Maddaford on 01837 861402 or John Horn on 01566 784767.
