Despite some heavy showers, the grand summer fete at Tavistock Parish Church on Saturday was a great success.
Many people enjoyed the attractions of traditional games of skill and chance, together with plenty of local food, refreshments and amusements for all ages.
An exhibition of art, embroidery and photographs by local people was also on display in the church.
The main marquee, which provided shelter throughout the day, was generously loaned for the event by Howells the Butchers and erected early on Saturday by their team of volunteers.
