SAMPFORD Courtenay’s parish council team are inviting everyone to come along and enjoy some Christmas cheer in the village hall – and meet Santa – on Saturday, December 11.

The Christmas Cheer event from 2-5pm is in aid of the Roof-Us Appeal to raise £150,000 to replace the village hall roof. It features tableaux of knitted characters from popular children’s books and films, created by parish clerk Marion Pratt, inspired by the ones fashioned by her parents when she was a child.

She still makes them to display at home and has made them the basis for the annual Christmas Wonderland in the village hall for children to admire while they queue to meet Santa. There are also refreshments and festive stalls to enjoy.

To book your slot for your child to meet Santa this year (a small charge applies) contact Marion on 01837 82285 or email [email protected]
