A HARVEST Festival service for ?Christians Together in Okehampton? takes place on Sunday.
The service takes place in the Fairplace Methodist and United Reformed Church at 8pm.
?Christians Together in Okehampton? exists to draw people closer together. The various church ministers of the town join weekly for prayer and hold regular united services.
Pastor Mike Davies, chairman of Christians Together in Okehampton, said: ?Within Okehampton we have a good relationship within the various denominational churches. It is pleasing to see that we are willing to join together for Sunday worship.?
Mr Davies said at one recent get-together of the various Okehampton ministers and their partners over an evening meal talk turned to the mistakes that each had made while in ministry.
Mike confessed that his mistake was falling over with the Communion trays while distributing Communion Wine. However, he had far too much discretion to reveal any other minister?s faux-pas.
Following the joint Harvest Festival service, the next united service will be held at St Boniface Church, Station Road, on Sunday, November 16, and will be conducted by Father Peter Morgan.
l ?Christians Together in Okehampton? will be hosting an evening of prayer for the Alpha Course, at the Church Hall, Market Street, on Thursday, September 18, from 7.30pm.
Alpha is a course aimed at exploring Christian faith for those who have little knowledge or experience of Christianity. An invitation meal is being held on the evening of Wednesday, September 24.
