THIS month will see the launch of this year's summer reading challenge at Okehampton Library for children aged four to eleven, which is on the theme of 'Record Breakers'.

The aim of the challenge is to get children to read six books from their library during the summer holidays. It is aimed to keep children reading through the summer to prevent their reading ability from dipping and is free to join.

Head to Okehampton Library where staff will enrol your child, who will receive a membership pack and a free active summer bag.

Every child who reads six books or more will receive a certificate and a medal. There are stickers and other small prizes to collect along the way and a further goody bag for the first 180 children to finish.
