A CHILDREN'S centre in West Devon is looking forward to an increased village presence expected later this month.

Tavistock Area Children's Centre will be using Princetown's new village centre once it is open to the public.

A weekly 'Drop-In' for families with children under 5 is currently being run at the Pavilions on a Wednesday morning from 10am to noon throughout the year, along with a 'Bounce and Rhyme' singing and story session at the library on the second Monday of each month.

Once the pre-school has settled into its new venue the plan is to use the same room for more sessions as well as supporting the existing toddler groups.

Maggi Calvert, children's centre worker, said: 'We hope our involvement with other agencies such as the Citizens' Advice Bureau, Job Centre Plus and Workings links as well as the local health visitors will expand the services available to the residents of Princetown the and surrounding area.'

Tavistock Area Children's Centre will be at the open day on April 24 and as part of the opening celebrations there will be a free 'Popkids' session on Tuesday, April 28 at the centre. To book call 01822 614210.
