Lifton Cottage Garden Society and WIs 29th annual horticultural show was held on the first Thursday in August, at the villages church hall.
Approximately 350 exhibits made a colourful display, Vegetable, fruit and flower classes along with floral art, cookery, handicraft and photography classes were of an excellent standard.
Great interest was shown in the childrens section of birthday cards, painted pictures of football teams on paper plates and jam tarts, along with secondary pupils classes of handicrafts, design for a CD sleeve and muffins.
A good crowd gathered for the presentation of cups. Chairman Mrs Jean Greenhalgh introduced the president, Anthony Phillips, who thanked all who had entered.
Michael Wevill was presented with a buttonhole by Miss Molly Wilby. Mr Wevill said he enjoyed viewing the exhibits and much work must have gone into producing them. He presented cups to the winners:
