MORE than 600 Christmas presents were sent to each child who has stayed at children's charity CHICKS' Moorland Retreat in Brentor this year. Staff and volunteers from CHICKS wrapped and sent the presents, along with BBC Spotlight's Victoria Graham and help was provided by CHICKS' answer to Rudolph — Rusty the Reindeer. CHICKS operations assistant, Ali Hurley, said: 'We feel that sending the children presents is a very important part of the CHICKS experience. 'Receiving a present in the post helps to remind the children that we are thinking of them, and that we care. 'Many of the children we see here at CHICKS will not get many presents, so having an extra one from CHICKS is much appreciated. 'We would like to thank Victoria for coming along to help, as with 600 presents to wrap, every pair of hands is important.' CHICKS provides free respite breaks to disadvantaged children from across the UK.
