TAW VALLEY Creamery, which is part of The Cheese Company, recently came away from the Nantwich International Cheese Show 2005 with 12 awards. The Cheese Company, the second largest cheese producer in the UK, manufactures more than 20 varieties of Cheddar, Blue Stilton and British regional cheeses and receives commendations for much of the produce. The cheese show was highly competitive, with the creamery winning gold awards for its Single Double Gloucester, Single Red Leicester and Single Vegetarian Cheddar cheese, silver for their Single Double Gloucester, Single Vegetarian Cheese and Red Leicester Recipes as well as gaining bronze for its Single Extra Mature Cheddar Cheese, Single Double Gloucester block and Single Red Leicester block. The creamery also scooped a bronze medal in the Past Master Class, a category which can only be entered by those creameries who are former Supreme Champions. Jim Dunlop, factory manager of the Taw Valley Creamery said: ?These awards are testament to The Cheese Company?s extremely devoted and hard working staff, who constantly strive to produce the best cheese on the market.
