A BOOZY donation was made to the Princetown Community Fund (PCF) recently, as a 'thank you' from a brewery in Honiton.
Otter Brewery donated a barrel of its finest beer to the PCF, after the brewery's driver was rescued from the snow by a PCF member.
The brewery's driver, Ben Roberts was stranded in the snow at the Two Bridges Hotel in the bad weather in early January, until a Princetown 4x4 driver came to the rescue.
The driver, Les Parr, offered to give Mr Roberts a tow to get to a safe route off the moor. He assisted Mr Roberts several times over several miles of moorland until Mr Roberts was able to safely continue his journey.
Mr Parr mentioned he was a member of the PCF committee while chatting on the journey, which led to Mr Roberts and the brewery offering a barrel of beer to the PCT in appreciation of the rescue.
Community Fund member Sam Wyton said: 'This is such a fantastic donation. We can turn a barrel into a couple of hundred pounds cash, which we could then equate to a major part of something, like the OAP's Christmas party. We are so grateful to Otter Brewery for this.'
The barrel will probably be used at the letterboxing festival in March.
