FIREFIGHTERS were called to extinguish a fire on Monday morning on open ground in Moretonhampstead. One crew from Moretonhampstead and a 4x4 vehicle from Bovey Tracey attended the scene, after a call that an excavator was on fire. A small fire occurred in the chassis compartment but was out when the firecrews arrived.
