Devon Football Association Development Officer Dave Keast, presented the award, which is the highest accolade presented to clubs and their partner organisations that demonstrate best practice in the organisation and administration of football.
Tavistock AFC, Tavistock Town Football Club, Tavistock Girls FC, Tavistock Thistles, together with Tavistock College, have worked on the bid for eight months.
The consortium of clubs has come together to provide the very best football opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.
All junior teams now have qualified team coaches, there are more first aiders in clubs and there are stringent checks on all adults working with children.
The links established between the Tavistock clubs and schools seeks to ensure that all young people have the opportunity to be involved in football.
On presenting the award, Dave Keast said: ?The strength of the Tavistock bid has been the community involvement. There is no other bid in Devon which seeks to bring all organisations involved in football under one umbrella.
?This is quite a remarkable achievement. Tavistock already has over 400 young people playing football and this is set to increase under the improved football structures.?
